Will You Be My Valentine?
TIPS FOR SPENDING VALENTINE’S DAY WITH YOUR FURRY FRIEND.
As Valentine’s Day gets closer, we begin to think about how we want to spend the day, and with who. Many of us will go out on dinner dates or do some form of valentine’s celebration, while others have big plans with the couch (hey, we aren’t judging, we’ll take the couch any day!). Either way, we have plenty of ideas on how to spend the day with your pet and safely include them in all the love.
1. Who doesn’t love to receive chocolates on Valentines Day? There’s no reason why your furry valentine should miss out. You can purchase some Carob buttons or yoghurt drops from your local pet store and treat your furry friend with some pet friendly “ chocolates.
Tip: you could even melt these down, before spooning into a heart mould and refrigerating to create a special heart shaped chocolate for your pet to enjoy.
3. Pick out a favourite treat for yourself and one for your furry friend and curl up on the couch with a snuggly blanket and watch a movie you both will love (we all know the best movies star the goodest boys and girls.
*Tip: dogs love the crunch of popcorn. Simple air-popped popcorn with no seasoning is a fun, safe treat for your pet. Just make sure to not overdo it.
4. Pack a picnic basket with some delicious treats and go for a picnic in your favourite park.
*Tip: there are some fun treats suitable for you to share with your pet. Things like banana, peanut butter, berries and apple slices are healthy treats you both can enjoy!
5. We all have that one meal that makes any occasion special. You can also treat your pet to a special meal by either making or buying something you know they’ll love or simply adding a meal topper for added enjoyment.
Whether you decide to buy something fun this Valentine’s Day or just enjoy some quality time together, there’s no reason why your loyal companion should miss out on the festivities this year.
